I am desperately in love with that pipe. That stem is beautiful. Everything about it makes it a fine pipe indeed.

I fired up the pipe this morning, christening it with 2008 Red Ribbon. The draw is easy and it smokes very well, with nary a hint of hot sauce or kiddie fingerprints. It's even better looking in person and the length is a bit imposing when first encountered. I'm not much of a clencher, but I can clench this one as it's pretty light. Definitely a winner.

Anyone know how large she drills the airway? My mind has been stuck on airways, bit thinness, button fatness and flared tails....
PS I really like the dark blue stems she's using now (orange is awesome too).

You could probably ask her directly....it's not like she hasn't commented on this thread about a half dozen times
I usually drill my airways at 5/32". With this pipe (as well as on all my "Scottie" pipes) I used a 1/8" bit. The chamber is 1/2" at the bottom and a 5/32" hole looks HUGE down at the bottom. There's no noticeable difference in smoking quality between the two.

That's a great looking looong Canadian. One of, if not, my favourite shape. Enjoy. :puffy:

If you're of a mind, take a look through the three galleries she has on her site, "ladybriar.com." You'll see that she's good to do many shapes, and all the pipes would seem to be well-crafted, and at her prices, there are some of the best buys in the business. smokingpipes for example seems to price the work of emerging carvers at $300.00-$400.00.

I LOVE this pipe! I've been smoking in for the past few weeks and it's a TOTAL WINNER!!!!! Effortless draw, no break-in needed, looks great and feels great in the hand.
Pheenie knows her stuff, that's for sure. (I think those tiny fingers give her an advantage when doing detail work)

Sable, by the time the smoke makes it through the stem has it aged enough to change the taste? That's a seriously long pipe! Love the color scheme! Nice choices and great pipe making!
