I love the birdseye look on a pipe and that pipe is pretty snazzy for a "attempt" at carving. ::

It ain't! I've made about a dozen pipes. Gave some away,traded others and even sold a couple. This is strictly a hobby for me. There are plenty of pipe carvers out there who are much better at it than I. Besides I'm to slow and would starve if I was trying to make a living at it! :lol:

Very nice Ed, I too love the bidseye, and good idea with the stand I actually was able to keep the scrap of the block that my horn was made from and made a stand for it. I like the shape of the stand. Scratches are a pain and sometimes hide till the wax goes on, I've had to strip, sand, and rewax a couple of pipes.

Papatoad, I feel your pain. Takes a lot of time and practice to get them right.
I'm learning, slowly and staying at it, not giving up is what it takes.
