I sold this one a few months ago, and it was one of those, "wish I hadn't" scenarios (cash went to Tinsky PAD so I'm not crying). I was very tempted to smoke it, but suspected if I did, I would not want to sell it. I also have a large-ish David Jones Poker, which is definitely a fine smoking pipe and a favorite around a campfire.

How often do his pipes come up for sale? I've been looking, but haven't seen any. Is it best to order from him? Also, what is the price range for his pipes?

His pipes usually come up for sale about every 10-15 days on eBay. You need to be quick when you see them. Very quick. I just bought one last week. He posted 4 up, they were all gone within about 15 minutes. He isn't currently taking orders right now though so keep your fingers crossed that you find one on eBay. Prices are usually $95-$125.
Jake's pipes are top notch and he's an awesome guy to deal with. Looking around on the internet brought up what seems to be almost a cult following on his pieces. Check out onemansmoke and dagnerperformance on YouTube. They're the guys that pushed me over the edge to buy a Hackert.

It sounds like onemansmoke was a big factor in the growing popularity of the Hackert pipes. I originally came across them on his YouTube videos, as well as a few from northwestpipemsoker and backcountrypipes.

Thanks for the info flat4driven.
I've seen the youtube vids...they remind me of the old school Dunhill fanatics I know. I have him saved as a vendor on Ebay...hopefully I'll get lucky. Really like those short stubby pipes of his.

Yeah, OMS pretty much put Jake on the map. In one of his videos, he does a box opening of a pipe that Jake sent him to thank him for bringing him all the business.

Yeah, I thought that was a pretty cool gesture. I absolutely love my two Hackerts and am always keeping an eye on his site for anything interesting.

Right on. I smoked mine once so far and it was amazing. I'd like to get two more; an OMS special and a poker. That way I can use to the one I have now for Aro's, the OMS for english, and the poker just because. I can dream, can't I?

Have fun and I'll look for the vid on You tube in a week or two.
Here are my Hackerts... all are 5" or longer with the largest being 5-3/8 x 2-3/8.

JC, how do you like that shallow bowl Hackert, middle left side? I have a similar pipe from him and it's one of my favorite pipes.

There is 3 older estate Hackerts for sale on eBay right now.
Yeah I saw them. None of them really get me excited. I'm a fan of the short and rusticated style. Thanks for the heads up though :)

You know Shooter... I never thought I would like the short squatty bowl, but as it turns out the two I have are now two of my favorites. The one on the bottom right of my pic was the first of the two, Jake was selling it as an estate on eBay and the price was $50 and well at that price I thought what the heck. The damn thing smoked like a dream from day one and it seems to agree with every blend I pack in it, so when the one you mentioned showed up on eBay I just had to have it.
IMO... Jake’s pipes are very well made pipes that are built to be smoked and smoked hard. When I was a kid there was an actor by the name of Charles Bronson, he was normally cast as a tough guy and I can remember my mom referring to him as being ruggedly handsome, well I think the same can be said about Hackert’s pipes. They may not be for everybody, which is probably a good thing for those of us that are crazy about them.
