Congrats... here in FL last frost is Never 31st. Growing season is January 1st - January 1st.
My garden is still very much in the works, both functionally and aesthetically. I am maximizing suburban space. I use dead space along the ground to plant things where soil is Native FL soil (literal sand), like watermelon and squash. Sod will most likely be placed in the spots I do not use once the setup is finalized. I am also going heavy on the side of the house with pots to try and sell at markets. I planted the Native American 4 sisters on the other side of the house (corn, black beans, squash, and sunflower... all hundred year old heirlooms).
Okra sprouting, remnants of winter garden, letting some things go to seed so I can reduce carbon footprint and save money, broccoli rabe was planted late. Fava beans, adzuki beans, and Chinese yard long beans sprouted and growing near the unfinished bamboo trellis.
Use of dead space without soil, potatoes, guava tree, pineapples, squash, sprouts... Two plantain trees to canopy the entranceway when they grow. Cactus patch in back to keep me focused. It hurts if I jolt into it.
New traditional medicine bed filled with medicinal herbs (not done, most are transplants due to harsh summer heat), shaded in all directions. Extra space with pots. Growing a tamarind tree and hawthorn tree (to dry flowers for medicine)
Native American 4 sisters have started growing... Besides using the sunflowers as a decoy against birds, I can use them to dye clothes black. All my transplants and hopefully enough to sell at market.
