peckinpah, those are both great looking Ruthenbergs, did you buy those from Rob. I think his blast work is outstanding and I love the way mine smokes. I am negotiating for another Ruthenberg for the collection. We do have similar tastes that is for sure. What do you think of Cooke's work? His prices are up there though.
Redbeard, thanks very much, that stem is so comfortable, he and Rad know how to cut a stem.

Yes, bought those from Rob. I have been itching for a Cooke pipe - I even bid one up to $1200, only to lose it. Crazy prices. I can't think of another carver whose blasted pipes sell for way more than their smooth pipes like Cooke. Would love to have one. love deep, craggy blasts.

I cannot believe what people are paying for estate Cooke's, way more than retail in some cases. I love the look also but am not willing to pay the freight just yet. His new ones sell out in 5 minutes, sometimes even faster.
I was watching those when Rob was selling them, they were too large for me, but they are gorgeous.

Congratulations peck. I wanted to pull the trigger on that one but I don't have very good luck with a 7/8 inch bowl. 13/16 is as large as I will go. There is something about me or the blends I smoke that just can't do a 7/8. I know its only a 1/16 of an inch but itakes a huge difference for me. Unfornutally Brian's commissions require a 50% deposit and are currently 6 months out or I would go that route. Maybe after he catches up a bit on the commission to where they are only 2 months out or so I will place an order with him. I'm still looking on the estate market but haven't found the right one yet.

fishnbanjo, congrats on your Ruthernberg, I am sure you are going to love it.
peck, that is a beauty, nice score. I am amazed at the price, I thought his new pipes were much higher than that. I really like the smooth top on that one. Hopefully Brian is feeling better now and will be putting out more pipes.

Hey guys, I am writing this on my iPad while sitting on my balcony on the Disney Fantasy somewhere in the Carribean. Smoking some Key Largo, which seems appropriate. Stoked about the new Ruthenberg. I also picked up a new rad Davis lovat that he posted the other day. That is the problem with vacations - idle hands make me spend money. Lol
