Very nice! You already know how I feel about that sweet sweet cumberland. The bowl has a really cool blast and kind of reminds me of those morta pipes.

Beautiful pipe, Harris. Such an unusual blast. And, of course, the cumberland stem is pretty indeed. Be sure and let us know how it smokes. I've been drawn to a few of Ruthenberg's pipes before, but hadn't heard much about the engineering and smoking properties (though Big Van gave some info above about the great stemwork on his pipes).
Congratulations!

Thanks guys.
pitchfork, I will definitely share my experience about the smoking qualities. I have heard his pipes smoke great and his engineering is top notch. He has been carving longer than many of the current crop of American artisans, I remember when he first got started and he was hanging out at a yahoo pipe group me and some friends started back in 01. His progression is amazing.

The pipe came in today and I am almost done with a bowl of Wessex Campaign Brigade Dark Flake. The pipe performed beautifully, it is smoking cool and dry and the blend tastes fantastic. It has a great hand feel and is very well balanced. I am definitely going to be on the lookout for more of Brian's work. This pipe smokes as well as my Rad's and other American artisan pipes. It really was a joy to smoke.

Harris I am so glad you found a treasure, and smokes great, what"s not to like, the Tinskey smokes fine, the previous owner had so lightly smoked it and the btm 1/2 inch was raw briar, cleaned it, retorted it and loaded up 1/2 bowls of Sq Leader, been doing that for a couple days, I would not hesitate to buy another Tinskey, didn"t want to steal your thread but you had asked how it smoked. Bradley, glad to hear that Tinsky is a great smoker. He is definitely on my list of American artisans to collect. I love a lot of his blast work.

That is one fine looking pipe. I have to agree that Brian's work is top notch. He is a great guy to meet and talk to as well. Your showing this pipe made me dig my own natural ruthenburg out and puff it. I'm doing just that now.

Man, I looked up some Ruthenbergs after seeing your pipe, and it just might be a while(a LONG while), before I get one. You always have the best pipes!

guitarguy, thanks man. I know what you mean about his new prices, they are up there. The estates though can be had for a more reasonable number, 200-250 is the normal going rate. I have seen some of his for 600-700 brand new.

Harris started this thread before I became a member of the site, but I was searching Ruthenbegr pipes and found it. Harris and I have a lot in common as I love Rad Davis and Brian Ruthenberg pipes. Thought I would share two Ruthenberg estates I recently picked up on ebay.
