I just received a much anticipated email from Ed. I am in the process of commissioning a couple of pipes from him. My first Morta is shined up and ready to go! I am extremely pleased with the way this one turned out. It is 5 3/8" long, bowl is 2 1/4" tall, 1 3/4" wide at the rim, chamber is .850" diameter and 1 11/16" deep. Cumberland stem with Black Palm extension. Ed doesn't have a scale but he says the pipe feels nice and light. I will weigh it and report back when I get home in a little over a week. Thanks Ed!

Generally smooth Morta I tend to find looks dead to me but that is not the case with this pipe. Ed did a marvelous job using the grain to take away the dead feel and that black palm to Cumberland stem transition is magical, enjoy that sweet looker.

The black palm really sets it off - provides a really interesting transition from the cumberland stem into the morta which provides contrast and balance. Nice stuff.

Really nice work. I love how the grain works with the shape of the pipe. The stem and extension are beautiful.

Enjoy smoking it!

Still waters run deep. Ed is a quiet unassuming knowledgeable man, Gentleman first Class, and he makes good pipes.

That is one of the nicest looking pipes I have seen! The coloring, the grain, the stem... I am SUPER jealous Chris.

Thanks for the comments guys. That is a fine looking mulberry Bradley. Ed will be making mine in a Grabow(I believe) shape 91 when he can find a suitable piece if stock.
