Just get the cobs with acrylic stems.
I enjoy my cobs and there's definitely a place for them. I've been smoking 4 bowls in the same cob during a four hour period while playing golf. Lighting it with a torch due to wind. Performs like a champ.

Probably didn't get to see the reverse calabash cobs then did you?wow, how times have changed. When I last bought MM cobs, they were only offered with the black plastic stems, and forever stems had a black vulcanite and an amber acrylic. Now, MM cobs come with several different acrylic stems offered on certain styles and forever stems have a plethora of offerings... very cool!! Not all change is bad :
No I didn't. But I just looked them up. What a hoot!Probably didn't get to see the reverse calabash cobs then did you?
Hi monty, they don't provide any measurement. Not quite familiar with their site. Means, if I choose the stem for cob pipes, they'll make it to fit MM Cob? The stem currently connect to my cob pipes are with 6mm filter, I just choose the filter stem? I am considering getting them ?That's true, but they last forever, so you can continue to transfer them to new cobs. I bought 6 of these stems about 10 years ago and they've outlasted all the cobs they've been on. They are not unreasonably priced considering someone had to make each one.
There only have one type here, all without cake ?I have around 45 cobs with about a dozen with Forever Stems (no photos, sorry). I've never let any cake build up in the cobs. There are those who do the cake thing and that's okay. Do what works for you. Since you bought 2 cobs, why not try one with cake and one without cake and then see what you like best. I use gun bore brushes (pictured below) to clean out the bowl after each smoke.

I have four in rotation. But I often place an order of 4 new MMCountry Gents with my tobacco order and cellar them along with the tobacco.I love my cobs. They really make you question how important it really is (or is not) to buy another expensive artesian briar.
I am choosing to allow some "cake" to build in my cobs.Personally I like the taste better with a thin layer of cake. When you clean them again in depth, the characteristic bitter smell of the cob returns. But everyone has their own tastes of course.
Ok, i've placed an order. ?That's true, but they last forever, so you can continue to transfer them to new cobs. I bought 6 of these stems about 10 years ago and they've outlasted all the cobs they've been on. They are not unreasonably priced considering someone had to make each one.
