It is a Radice Rind O, but I am not going to brag about how pretty it is or how much it cost. I won't say anything about how well it smokes or how it feels in the hand. This pipe is not my favorite for any material reasons whatsoever.

You see, this pipe was a gift from a member of this forum. I had saw it posted for sale here just a couple hrs after I spent my PAD money I had saved up. When I saw the pipe for sale I mentioned how much I liked it and joked that I hoped everyone was broke for awhile. Seems like every time I spend my money on something an awesome deal appears moments later and this was one of those times!

The reason this is special to me is because of how it made me feel when I was PM'd and told I would be receiving the pipe as a gift. I have some serious medical issues that kinda keep me down and changed my life in a big way. I tend to get very depressed and get to feeling very lonely.

At the risk of sounding corny, this pipe is a symbol that I am not alone and that there are some very kind people in this world.

I wrote this because I was feeling very blue this morning, but picking up this gift and smoking it over coffee put a smile on my face and changed how I was feeling. It's awesome to think I will have this pipe for the rest of my life.

I really just wanted to publicly thank the fella who gave me this pipe. You gifted me much more than a fine piece of briar, you gave me a reason to smile and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

The more i'm on this fourm, the more I believe, that we (everyone on this fourm) are such great people...I will probably NEVER meet any one, but already, I feel like there all my brothers and (sisters, I think there are a few females), like i've known them for such a long time. We send prayers for others, we send tobacco, pipes, smiles and laughter, we get worried when someone hasn't been on in a while,...It's a great place to be and I look forward to logging on every chance I get.
BTW, that is a great pipe!!

The members here are all great people.I have two pipes given to my by the member Manytrees. This was very early on in my time on the forum. I posted a thread saying I was trying to fix the stem on a Willard I bought(I fail at it by the way). He sent me a PM saying he wished to give me a Falcon. Well when the package arrived, not only did he give me a Falcon, but a LL Bean Billiard, and a bag of two year aged Boswell's Countryside. I still have a little of the Countryside left. I'm actually about to smoke some.

Nice story...

Whatever your ailment is I hope it reminds those who are well to lend a hand to those who are not. I have a friend in your situation and I don't do enough for her. Thanks for getting me back on track.

That is a great story and a real class act by the person who gifted you that great looking pipe. Radice makes some wonderful smokers and I am sure that one will be no different. This really is a special place.

Enjoy that sweet thang, Spyder. Just think, each time the smoke goes up you can envision this angel of mercy's face in the cloud. :) I've lived alone these past ten years and just have my dog for companionship...no family save a sister in another state so, I can identify with feeling alone from time to time. My boy helps me a lot in that respect but sometimes you just need a little hug from a human. It helps to hold and hug my dog a lot and he gets plenty of affection. Maybe that would help you as well...a dog, I mean. It's like a good medicine for me just having him with me.

@colcolt: I have two great little dogs and I don't know what I would do without them. They pretty much sit with me all day and I even take one of my little guys for short walks around the block. The little buggers don't care what mood I am in or how much I hurt, they just love their Daddy!
