I don't know if this is the right place to pubish, if not, please tell me where?

Well, I just wanted to share a bit of my evolution in the world of pipes. Sorry for my approximative english, I come from Belgium. ;)

I started a few years ago by restoring old estates and it has became a part time activity for me (about 1 or 2 days a week), putting back estates to life and getting them back on the market.
I have spent the money earned by this activity in tools and now, since a few months, I am mounting preturned stummels, which I wanted to share with you, not for getting free pub but just for reading your comments as I know that US pipemakers are doing very well and have reached a high level of craftmanship. Of cours,e I am still restoring pipes, becausde I love that but in the same time, I try to go on with moutning pipes too.

In the future, I will surely like to improve my skills and begin with hand carved pipes but so far, I prefer to improve my mounting abilities and develop varieties.
Below are some of my mounts made last year.

-One of my favorite rusticated pipe wich I adapted for 9mm filters:

-A Bent Dublin Shape stummel which I stained then cleared & mounted with a long brown horn stem:

-A Large Bent with partial rustication & vulcanite blue stem (well some people like, most don't  )

-A large Lovat with light rustication:

-My very first sandblasted Billiard end of 2014, I had chance because the briar was young enough to sand deeply and offered a nice grain, I mounted it with a cumberland premolded stem:

-A Bent Egg with curious rustication and stain in grey, it seems like a stone but much lighter  : this one smokes like a goddess:

-With this stummel, I really enjoyed the sand process, well surprised to get a ring grain, also mounted with a cumberland stem, you can see the stummel before and then finished:

Well, I hope that you appreciate it and maybe I will add some other but if you don't, that doesn't hurt me, I learn also by negative opinions !

Very nice work, minus the 9mm filter, lol. Personally, i hate filtered pipes but your off to a great start with what you're doing. Please don't hesitate to post future projects, we are a bunch of pipe porn addicts around here!

I love filtered pipes, and there is a growing market for them. There aren't many that are outside of the standard shape chart, and fewer still made by artisans. That is good work, on my opinion, on all of those examples.

Ok, so I love pipe-restoration-porn
This definitely fits the bill.
Good work!
When you say "mounts" are you talking about the stand the pipe is laying on or something else?
Either way, keep posting your work, I love this stuff.

Nice, that second pipe looks like a Chacom I have. Lots of beautiful pipes there. Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing.

@rigmedic1, i agree especially in europe. I've seen quite a few S. Bang's and German artisans that produce them, obviously because there is a market over there that demands them. It's just a personal preference and i still have 3 9mm filtered pipes that i intend on selling and an il ceppo that i did sell a few months ago. I did give them a chance with and without the filter to be fair. I do have the adapter piece as well, but it does a mediocre job at best and i just hate dealing with the mess of filters and cleaning the adapter under the faucet after a few smokes. Different folks, different strokes!

I like your efforts! I have smoked 9mm pipes since the 60s and only see them gaining market.

Oh no sorry, by mounts I wanted to say the way the stem is fitted to the shank (like we say with 'army mount').

Sorry for my lack in English.

Thank you for your good words.
I have recently worked on rustication processes and I guess I am reaching near what I wanted with what I call the 'Lunar' models. These are deep rustications, it needs thick briars as it takes a lot of it but when you love craggy pipes like I do... :)
The very first Lunar was made on this Danish shaped stummel :

The following ones are two canadians machine turned stummels, the second with white Ivory Lucite stem is the bigger :

Beautiful work with lots of variety. I don't remember having seen a similar big-bowled cutty before. You have a way with finishes.
