I smoke daily and cellar Maltese Falcon (G.L. Pease). The tin note brings me back to my teenage years in Adak, Alaska where I would use World War II-era Quonset huts as my hunting campsite. The sweet and sour aroma is appealing to me, especially when paired with a canteen of Johnnie Walker Black label; both represent the smokiness of a campfire (who doesn't like the smell of a campfire?). I smoke Latakia blends in my straight billiard pipes because there's less gurgle-the worst thing is the taste of Latakia gurgle from a bent pipe.
Ooops, probably should have provided some context: U.S. Army built many Quonset huts in Alaska when Japan occupied American soil in the Aleutian Chain during WWII. The abandoned Quonset huts smelled to me like sweet and sour (just like Maltese Falcon), and were dilapidated but of great use for contemporary hunting cabins; the best time of my life!

If you’re in the states GLP is a must try

vaper - Telegraph Hill, my fav even over many others held in high regard. Every palette is different
Virginia - union square, though I may prefer others this one is solid
Burley - Barbary coast would be hard to argue with
VaBur - I may be in the minority here but I like Navigator
English - I fell out with Latakia, but Abington is nice with a little sweetness
I believe you might be remiss not to try Windjammer!

I didn't see Embarcadero on the lists above...to my taste it is better than Cairo. Union Square with some age is great. And Fillmore is fantastic if you wait 3 years (otherwise it is good, but not great).
Second aged Fillmore. Older the better.

He's right up here with SG/GH IMO. My ultimate favorites are too long to list but I just love his Gaslight and Spark Plug. There's no other great tobaccos like the two - not even similar. Pure Masterpieces.

I do have to be non-based and add that there are two of his blends I do not like at all. His English Chocolate and a new release, Windjammer. And so sad to see his best ever blends long gone when his Syrian supply burnt down. If you can find them in a mylar bag, go for it - but any of them in tins are rusted out and unsmokable,.

Jack knife plug is great, dfk, burley, and Virginia (I could be wrong) layered and pressed into a plug.

Gaslight is a crumble cake english, it's as heavenly as it is heavy on lat.

I can't remember all.his blends I've had, but I've never hated one. As where C&D I've liked 1 blend in every 15 or 20 I have tried.

The only ones worth a snot are Quiet Nights, Meridian, and Cairo. Telegraph Hill and Union Square are ok, but I much prefer European-made Virginia and VaPer.

Love your username as well. My user name is related, because of the boots n pants n boots n pants n boots n pants I heard in all that Detroit techno growing up.
i'm a few years late to the party, but could you describe why you like the EU style va/vaper more?

I'm planning to make a purchase from the US. I need all the info i can get !

Quiet Nights is awesome. Ive only had a couple of the GLP vapers and I didnt love them. They tended to lean away from the sweet, bready, fruit notes you find in things like HU and Dan vapers. That said, I have not tried all of them and I dont want to sound negative becuase Im sure they are technically well done...just not in my taste wheelhouse.

Id be interested in trying some of the CnD vapers but there are few to be found in the EU.

Its easy to get caught up in the trap of thinking that tobacco somewhere else is better lol.
Americans order from Germany, we try to get things from the US.

GLP has so many blends and though I’ve only scratched the surface of his offerings but my impression is that you can’t really go wrong if you choose blends that fall within the categories you tend to enjoy. he really brings an element of fun/playfulness to his blends in a way that feels unique. Here are some of my standouts:

Spark Plug (this was the first GLP blend I tried and remains a favorite)
Haddo’s delight
Sixpence
Penny farthing (I really enjoy the shag cut)
Windjammer (I don’t usually gravitate towards blends with overt toppings, but this is an exception)
