Being a trumpet player, that's the one artist I can't listen to. Such an anemic/terrible tone. But the rest of the jazz world has deemed it as the greatest LP ever recorded.
Same as you Hobie, I'm no where close to a Davis fan, I much more prefer Armstrong or Gillespie.

I'm with you with Armstrong. I'm a big fan. I've never much cared for Gillespie though.

Sparrowhawk, I currently listen to the PM podcasts. I downloaded all 56 of them and I'm half way through. When Brian says "light up a bowl" I smile and think right with ya brother. Before I got started in pipe smoking I used to spend a lot of time listening to the samples on ITunes. I am so disappointed with today's radio and I can't even stand listening to the music I grew up with because all those songs have been beat to death on the radio. I find myself searching the alternative music lately and without any good stations around my area that play this genre I end up on the internet. There is a wealth of music at your fingertips to sample. I think I will enjoy smoking my pipe and sampling again once I have caught up on the podcasts.

I'm with all the Metal heads. I love a little Slipknot, Disturbed, Dead Throne or I'll tone it down with a little Theory of a Dead Man, Avenged Seven Fold, Mudvayne, God Forbid, Escape the Fate. Mmmm... Good stuff.

...yeah, wow, metal mania!

Besides Sabbath & Slayer I'm behind the times with all the newer stuff,

but this hour-long Sleep track is a damn fine accompaniment for a long slow bowl...

Must be played very very loud,

like beyond 11,

fuzz'd up the muff!
