Very tough call on this one adam12. Both of these bands are iconic and occupy equally important positions in rock & roll history. I love both but I have to go with Floyd. Much of my formative years spent listening to The Wall, Wish You Were Here, Dark Side of the Moon et al. Man those were the days.

Sorry Stone's fans... No offense; but I just can't stand the Rolling Stones.

If I hear the Rolling Stones on the radio... I change the station... Instantly.

It gives me the willys just thinking about them.
However; we are discussing two totally different types of music.

One I enjoy... The other I don't.
You could probably say that my taste in music is a little off the beaten track. :roll:

Not much talent in the Rolling Stones, basic straight forward rock music. Pink Floyd is 100 times more creative, musically and technically.
And Mick Jagger has to be one of the two ugliest men on the planet. 8O ( for some strange reason, women find really ugly looking men attractive, as our secretary said she'd drop her husband and her panties for Mick any day ) :laughat:

No competition. Floyd forever, eff the Stones. To me The Rolling Stones are the birth of 'Bro rock" if it weren't for them we wouldn't be suffering through Nickleback now.

Hmmm. I am with Lawrence on this one in that I see them as 2 totally different types of music. A bit like comparing apples and oranges for me. I like them both however. It all depends on my mood. If I was only allowed to listen to one or the other though, I guess I would pick Floyd. I find myself on the introspective side more often.

I have to go with the Pink on this one. Pink Floyd lyrics were nothing short of genius.

Rolling Stones are just what they are a straight foward simple rock band.

A bit like comparing apples and oranges for me.

That's why I chose these two - to give the apple lovers and the orange lovers an opportunity to justify their apple and orange support
Both bands did it all - dancey songs, ballads, big arena rock, bluesy down-home numbers, acoustic - seem pretty evenly matched to me in many ways!
