Not a movie but TNG episode,The Inner Light. Where Picard lives an entire life in an alien simulation. He has a family, grows old and wakes up knowing how to play an indigenous flute. Destroys me every time.

Tears of Laughter, Dumb and Dumber when they eat hot sauce and start squirting ketchup and mustard into their mouths trying to cool down, ridiculous.
I saw Dumb and Dumber in the theater, never laughed so hard in my life to that point. And yes, thank you, I do have a finely tuned sense of artistic vision in film.

ET. Specifically the scene where Elliot and ET are strapped down and being examined by the medical teams. Elliot screaming "You're killing him." FFS I'm 43 years old and that scene brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.
I remember watching that in the theater with my dad. I looked over and he was looking at his watch and rubbing the tears out of his eyes... so I punched him in the arm and called him a word that no longer use in public as a negative.

Red Fern Grows got me as a kid. I can't remember ever crying again after that.

Watching SavungPrivate Ryan with my 2 boys, when they rushed a machine gun emplacement and the medic I believe was dieing and crying for his Momma, hit me so hard I jumped up and ran out the movie, boys came in the lobby eyes full of tears, reminded me of my time in S Asia.

Still gets me. My sister and I got kicked out of the movie theater when we were kids for crying during that scene. The worst part is for years I thought that ET died.

The end of "Mr. Holland's Opus" caught me off guard some 20 years ago and one of my precious few fucks was given.....

Nowadays, my tears are reserved for viewing my earnings statements.

One more, if you please: Atticus' closing argument to the jury in the trial of Tom Robinson from To Kill a Mockingbird...

Interesting bit of trivia: The pocket-watch that Atticus holds actually belonged to Nelle Harper Lee's father who was an attorney.

That scene wrecked me too. I had a sleepless night that night.

If I like a movie, I sort of open up. I don't really cry, but a tear or a little snot might happen.
Schindler's List does it, Lonesome Dove too, not a movie but a TV miniseries, several scenes in both of those. Million Dollar Baby, Das Boot, Shawshank Redemption, obvious ones like that. If they're good, they touch me.

The Chinese film To Live. Possibly in my top five of all time. I bought a copy to make sure I can get one since certain entities don't appreciate it. I didn't have it for years even though I loved it, because I would break down literally in deep gut wretching sobs - it was just so painful for me - no watery eyes in this one - much, much more than that.

A river Runs through it: a beautiful book and a fine movie about a true story. the end of both book and the movie (which are the same) always brings more than just a tear to my eye.
The Remains of the Day: Anthony Hopkin's facial expression with Emma Thompson on the Pier expresses a level of existential regret, loss and melancholy that is impossible to ignore or deny. They are both such brilliant actors
It's A Wonderful LIfe: George and Clarence in the cemetery... your brother Harry Bailey fell through the ice and drowned at the age of 9. That's a lie...Harry Bailey went war, he saved the lives of every man on that transport....every man on the transport died...Harry wasn't there to save them because you weren't there to save Harry......

2 that can do it to me are Little Women and The Notebook. Watched the second one with my ex and it got to me. The first one because we got the call that my sister was killed right at the point in the film where it says something like "a shadow fell over the house."

I'm a man and I'm not going to be afraid of crying. (Not directed at anyone here)
