Right now my most underrated tobaccos would be Uhle's Par Shooter and Rattray Brown Clunee.

All of the Uhle aromatics are really tasty. The burleys they use as a base are terrific. Par Shooter tastes great, smokes easily to a dry ash, and the room note is marvelous.

Finally got around to trying Brown Clunee as the final blend in the Marlin Flake/Old Gowrie/Hal o' the Wynd group. It's the sleeper of the bunch. Rich tasting and always a delight.

Ask me next week about my most underrated tobaccos & the answer might be different. That's part of the fun!

Having just finished a bowl, I'm reminded how excellent GL Pease's Triple Play is. And it's a post 2007 blend at risk of going the way of the dinosaurs.

G&H bright cr flake, I have no idea why people don't hoard this stuff, it is amazing

McClellends Old world Cake, I never hear anyone mention it, I've loved it since my first bowl

G&H happy brown bogie, this stuff is turning my pipe hobby into an addiction, the thought of finishing work and getting home to a full bowl of it runs through my mind

Arango Balkan Supreme, I have no idea why nobody talks about this either, considering it was voted best blend in a blind review, I think because it's a readily available bulk for 35$ a pound people turn their noses up and run after stuff like Balkan Sobranie for 12$ and a one tin limit instead.

Thanks for the reminder JMatt. This one is going on my next order. This should be like Jack Knife plug + perique, right?

One of my favorite flakes is Rotary Navy Cut. It is a great first of the day smoke with my coffee. I began smoking it in 2012 and I luckily loaded up on it back then and into 2013. Jiminks recently told me that it has been discontinued which is a real shame.

+1 rotary navy cut. thank you cigarmaster , I bought a bunch of tins based on your flake list , for non red va. I also like reds and mcc’s in particular. I think McC 2015 , 40 th anniversary , and mcc 27 are underrated for the price and ready availability

An over-the-counter codger blend in a pouch it may be, but I was surprised at how much I like Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic, burley base with Virginia as a condiment and flavored with three liqueurs. SWR Regular doesn't have much taste to me, but this is a pleasing aromatic, tobacco forward, and nicely blended. I'm first a non-aromatic smoker with a propensity toward full-strength, but I have taken to some milder blends and some aromatics, which adds excitement back to the full-strength blends when they come around in the rotation. Otherwise, the taste buds get blasted and you can't taste anything but high-test leaf.

Warhorse RR. Yeah, I know it's not a real version of Warhorse, but I don't care. On its own merits it's one of the best blends Russ has made. I only wish they had stuck with the Pre-release version, which had a perfect balance between the elements, but little Nic hit. In amping up the Nic, the blend shifted slightly off that balance. But it's still a great blend.
