One of my daughters' cats would always find me if I was sick and stuck in bed, otherwise not - she was very empathetic. Our dogs just know when something is "off", whatever it is, it's amazing.
I had a bad run with covid back in January. Both of my dogs and cat stayed by my side the entire time.
This little brown bat had fallen sleep on our covered porchband joined me for a pipe in the evening. Slept through the whole thing.
Cats are great that way. My current guy was very skittish and traumatized when we got him. I had a bad slip on the ice one day. When I got back from the hospital opening the door was actually hard and painful and I was swearing up a storm (by the way the cat would hide if you swore around him at that point) and he ran over and gave me meows and head bumps and pretty much glued himself to me during the recover period.
