I get less mint more wintergreen. But I've smoked one bowl in a cob so.... My opinion could change on those kind of details.Put me in the like it camp. A LOT.
After some time opened, that strong minty whisky tends to soften and the vanilla steps up and becomes much more noticeable. A nice fragrant smoke and still burley forward.
I find it one of the best OTC, if not the best for me. I really don’t get the hate. But of course tastes are subjective.
so are you. At least according to that other thread and some member by the screen name (probably gonna get it wrong but I remember it being" Comicfolklures
Yeah I used mint but is actually hard to pin that exact flavor. Overall that fresh kind of floral boozy flavor that is quite strong initially.I get less mint more wintergreen. But I've smoked one bowl in a cob so.... My opinion could change on those kind of details.
there really is enough going on that one or two things could get confused for another thing. Like it could be mint it's certainly got one of the medicinal snuff ingredients (menthol, mint, camphor, wintergreen, checkerberry, also pine though no way it's that) and the precise one could be obscured by all the other stuff. For one never tried any of them with whiskey but this gives me an idea for my next bespoke snuff.Yeah I used mint but is actually hard to pin that exact flavor. After it settles it is even more tasty.
I also get the wintergreen...from birch root, I suspect.I get less mint more wintergreen. But I've smoked one bowl in a cob so.... My opinion could change on those kind of details.
I mix my 79 with Warhorse Green sometimesAlso try blending Grousemoor and 79 together for some chocolate dipped apricot vibes
I do get a bit of a birch beer taste from it. Which seems like a popular flavoring during the 1933.I also get the wintergreen...from birch root, I suspect.
A blend that intrigues me and also slightly frightens me as well. I feel like that could be a love or oh god why please forgive us for this blasphemy. So certainly on the must try list.I mix my 79 with Warhorse Green sometimes
Haha! Admittedly, it was an accident at first(long story). But I find that it makes the 79 taste closer to the original recipe.A blend that intrigues me and also slightly frightens me as well. Yep, right there. Leave it open for a few days if you’d like to have the vanilla a little more upfront. As I recall, he did review it on Tobacco Reviews. As far as I remember, he gave it two out of four stars. He seemed pretty ambivalent. Which tends to be the norm for this bled: you love it, hate it, or say "ehhh..."@JimInks please help us here man ??
Or maybe all of those together and at the same time ?you love it, hate it, or say "ehhh..."

I would never say that I am ambivalent of Mixture #79. I wrote a neutral review because it is known to be a polarizing blend. My reviews and ratings of blends do not reflect my personal opinions. I gave dispassionate details of my experience with that blend for that reason, and gave it two stars to reflect that polarization so people could make up their own minds about it.
