I worked with Paracaidistas and Caballaria when I was in Afghanistan. Good troops, who knew how to share Sangria. I will say this about the Spanish rations their coffee is much better than ours, but canned pulpo is bad, bad, bad.
Man, back in the day when Kandahar was crankin like a big ass county fair it was the shit! Would come in from the tiny Fire Base I was at and eat at the Dutch chow hall but the best part was hangin out with the Aussies.......those boys had the right attitude and beer;)

@JOHN72 The pulpo I'm referring to didn't look like a delicious seafood meal on a rustic wooden plate, served with a fruity Galician red...no sir. It was instead, a little can full of baby aliens packed in their own slime. If only it had smelled better than it looked!
It did not.
I'd rather have had a veggie omelet MRE (those who know, I'm sorry).
At least with that one you could rub the tabasco into your eye, which would hurt bad enough that you could choke down the vomelet.
