Merchant Service Table Pipe

Due to my intermittent, occasionally persistent PAD condition, I’m intrigued by this table pipe. Curious to see if anyone here has purchased one, and if so, what has been your experience of smoking it?

I haven’t purchased the Merchant Service Table Pipe, but, I have recently purchased their hose to replace the missing one for my GBD; I also have a Savinelli Kalumet already, so don’t feel any pressing need to get the MS one at this time.

I imagine it’s a similar experience. Is it just a gimmick, or does it actually fill the gap that you had in your pipe collection? In other words, do you find its design useful?

It's a pipe. But, it frees up my hands a bit for drawing at the computer—one still must tamp, though, so, it's not completely hands free.

Chamber is .75″ x ~1.3″ is what their website shows. Seems for something like that it should have a huge- at least big- chamber. And the owner should have a table he can leave the set up on for a while.

Looks comparable to modern hookah hose. Most recommend running warm water through it and then letting it dry thoroughly.

I just popped a funnel into the hose for my GBD and ran hot water through it—this is probably the only type of pipe I'd do this.

I try to make good on my word, which was made harder this instance from having a bad case of the 'Vid.

The Merchant Service Table Pipe is a quality piece of kit. No issues to speak of. Chamber is definitely bigger than advertised, 1.5"+, which is a pleasant surprise as the advertised size seemed small for a table pipe.

I've seen pipes like this from 1970s tobacconist's catalogs. I always pictured a very macho guy with a mustache, sitting in his 70s "pad," smoking this and thinking he looks like a Maharajah. In my opinion, they're cool.

I don't know what hookahs have done to the rule makers.. I will not provide my opinion on them, even though they provide a pretty good smoke.

My question would be: How stiff is the hose on this pipe? When you turn your head, does the hose shove the bowl around the table (or over the edge)?

Table pipes were in vogue from the Victorian era through the first third of the 20th century. It seems like every quality maker of Britwood offered at least one model, it not more. Since these aren't hookahs, no hit, no foul.
