I would say so. Much as Elmer's glue can be a permanent patch for a cob. Others here have used it on much larger meer damage with a fair amount of success.Would it for a crack on a solid meerschaum pipe?

Truly beautiful pieces!IMP, SRV, AKB, and Altinay are definitely the way to go. Then of course there's independent artisans.

Are you getting it hot when smoking?Hate to revive this thread but I just received a meer from Paykoc and I smoke maybe 2 bowls a day spaced a long time apart and take great care of it and I am noticing a gnarly spidering crack going through the carving. I just emailed them so let’s hope they can help me out
I use the breathe method for the most part while smoking. It rarely if ever gets hot.Are you getting it hot when smoking?
If you're blowing smoke back through the pipe with every draw a la muttnchop, that may overheat it enough to crack, but some meerschaum can have natural internal flaws that come to the surface when heated.I

As you can see in the picture it is very deeply line carved. I assume expansion and deep carving just didn’t work out on this pipe. I was a glass blower for many years making pipes I should’ve known better. Next pipe will be a not carved classic church warden. Guess I have a reason to go buy it now. Thankfully the crack is still air tight and hasn’t gone into the bowl so I’ll use it till it breaks. Sucks though I loved this pipe. I guess I’ll be more careful next time *shrug*If you're blowing smoke back through the pipe with every draw a la muttnchop, that may overheat it enough to crack, but some meerschaum can have natural internal flaws that come to the surface when heated.
Still likely a fluke. Even heavily carved ones can last for many years. This fellow's been heavily smoked for a few years now and even dropped a few times with no damage. As you can see in the picture it is very deeply line carved. Chasing, impressive collection. Between your Bruce Weaver collection and your Meers who else made their way into your collection?IMP, SRV, AKB, and Altinay are definitely the way to go. Then of course there's independent artisans.
