I picked up an SRV freehand and by itself, the sleek shape makes it appear like a small pipe.



With a chamber depth of two inches though, it really holds it's own with my larger pipes.

Thanks! I don't think I'll ever get over how feather light meerschaum is. The newest one has virtually no weight at all.

Wow, lighting this thing is a challenge. Totally blind chamber due to the shape. Smokes very well though, very open draw!

I like the shape but have always shied away from such for that very reason.

Ditto. One reason I don't like cutty shapes or anything canted forwards for that matter.

Just finished the first smoke and I detected no chalkiness in the flavor as I have other meers. SRV is getting a big thumbs up from me.

The thing about this one though is that there is no forward cant to the chamber. The back of the bowl is so high that you can't see into the chamber. If the rim was level instead of slanted, there would be no issue. I solved the problem by drawing before bringing the flame down and the downdraft of the draw pulled the flame to the chamber instead of the rim.

My claw and floral were bought just to look at but the new one and the big skull are going to be regulars once it warms up.

Nah, just the two. I really don't have a rotation, just switch pipes every few weeks or so. I'm moving towards only a handful of smokers and a few display only pieces.

Same here. I’m trying to get my collection down to 25 pipes. 5 lookers and 20 smokers. Good luck, it’s a difficult task....especially when people keep giving you pipes. ?
