I say go for it, but unless you're dropping 1200 bucks on one, some of us may question if your heart is really into this.
If you don’t learn the basics of smoking, then a $1000 meerschaum (or briar) will not do it for you.Hi,
would you recommend meerschaum pipe for a beginner smoker?
I have not. I am eager to try a pipe, but I am also overthinking it I guess.@franzkfk did you ever buy a pipe from your posts last year looking at different shapes, or just more window shopping?
I suffer from the same malady. Take your top [number] pipes and a dice with the same number of sides. Roll that puppy and see what you get. You can drive yourself bonkers very fast if you get caught up in paralysis by analysis. You're looking at getting your first pipe, not your last.I have not. I am eager to try a pipe, but I am also overthinking it I guess.
lol yah it's been awhile since you started wanting huhI have not. I am eager to try a pipe, but I am also overthinking it I guess.
Maybe someday he'll smoke a pipe!lol yah it's been awhile since you started wanting huh
Amen, I haven't come across a decent meerschaum for less than $ 150.and even then stem button shaping.in all probability, leaves something to be desired.Furthermore, prior to buying anything make sure that the stem has a standard push in tenon.A good meer is hard to find. Some are crap. Also stem work sometimes leaves alot to be desired
Why did you tell the secret ?!You must first be initiated into the Ancient Order of Meerschaum Pipe Smokers and receive training to become a 3rd Degree Smoker. With that in hand along with a note from your Lodge Master countersigned by one of your parents you can then have a meerschaum pipe!
Ahhh memories...@proteus : I left out the part about rolling up your left trouser leg and wearing the ceremonial butt plug with the eagle feather and the leather restraining apron with nipple clamps!
