Anyone have any experience with McConnell Pure Brasil? Thinking of trying to pick up a tin of it (if I can find one somewhere) to try in some home blending experiments...

Thanks for the useful feedback. If I had a guess, I'd say it's similar to Kopp's "Flor Fina" which is a pure Brazilian made by the same company.
I have an open tin I've been working on. It's smooth and has a fair amount of nicotine. Reminds me of a smooth, sweet burley rather than cigar leaf. I also have an old jar of Cuban Partagas pipe tobacco ("picadillo") but that smells much more like cigar.
Order from Estervals, if that's still an option.
It does exist on this side of the Atlantic, too -- just need to track it down...

Great -- thanks for the review. I'm looking forward to trying it an experimental home blend or two as soon as I can lay my hands on a tin.Smoking some McConnell Pure Brasil right now in a small Meer I use for tasting. Got it several months ago as part of my last pre-tariff Estervals order.
It’s pure cigar leaf, all right! I’m not a stick smoker, so I can’t give a lot of detail other than to say that it’s rich, deep, and musty in a good way.
Seems like quality leaf—I like it. It’s deeper/darker in flavor than the C&D chopped cigar leaf, which has more sweetness and tang.
A little monotone on its own, which is no surprise. I would definitely mix this into blends.View attachment 422996
