The tobacco industry is not going anywhere in the foreseeable future. Imagine if suddenly, the taxes from tobacco sales and income taxes from all those emplyed in the tobacco industry were gone. It would be catastrophic to the U.S. Economy. I think taxes will continue to rise and restrictions become tighter. Prices will steadily increase.
It only makes sense for pipe smokers to steadily cellar tobacco. I say steadily buy not panic buy. Most tobacco improves with age. You're protecting yourself against price increases. And if something catastrophic does happen, you have yourself covered to some degree.
I'm 60, I think in three to five years, I should have enough to last the rest of my life. And I'll always be smoking agreed tobacco. I do feel for the younger pipe smokers but I don't think anything catastrophic is imminent.
