If it is a bulk from smokingpipes.com I can usually remove their label from the bag and it is still sticky enough to put on the lid. Otherwise I use a sharpie and really poor handwriting skills.

If I need to put something else in the jar, rubbing alcohol on a rag or paper towel removes marker very quickly, even if it has been there for years.

I started using 2" round sticker labels, they can be found on amazon. I think I got 250 on a roll for about $10 or so. Should last quite a while! I didn't get the pink ones, I went with the brown color. But you can get them in just about any color. Easy to peel off the roll and use a Sharpie on. You can take them off or get them off when wet, but I just put a new sticker over the old one if needed.

Many of the blends I've purchased don't have a "logo label" on the bag they come in or online. 2" fits the regular mason jar just about perfectly, but I use them on the wide mouth as well.

I just copy brand info from online (or take a pic with my phone of the tin), a little photoshop, and then open the images into a Word doc for 30 up mailing labels, and print them on mailing labels. I like the labels to be on the side of the jar, not the lids, personally. It makes finding what I want on a shelf packed with jars so much easier.

I also like that the mailing labels wash off easily with water.
This is just an example of some, the first two are my own blends.
