Why, Mr. Lee?, Why, why?.
Why do you do it? Why, why do you buy?.
Why keep buying Marxmans?.
Do you believe you're smoking ...for something?.
For more than your survival?.
Can you tell me what it is?.
Do you even know?; Is it freedom?, Or truth?.
Perhaps peace?. Could it be for love?
Illusions, Mr. Lee.
Vagaries of perception.
Temporary constructs of a feeble human intellect trying desperately to justify an existence that is without meaning or purpose.
And all of them as artificial as this Forum itself, although... only a human mind could invent something as insipid as a Marxman.
You must be able to see it, Mr. Lee.
You must know it by now, You can't buy all the Marxman pipes.
It's pointless to keep buying.
Why, Mr. Lee?.
Why?, Why do you persist?.

Heart of Darkness was one of my high school favorites. I was a weird kid, my senior English teacher told me.Heart of Darkness by Conrad was on my Grandma’s bookshelves above Me Little Armalite and Fields of Athenry when me and my cousin Pam the Schoolteacher divided her relics.
But I kept the Steinbeck's and Cash.

Yeah, its brokenMan I got really excited when I saw this up for auction. I immediately messaged the seller and asked how much it would take to buy it outright. But then I went back after sending the message and saw it was broken. What a shame. I really want one of these. View attachment 380169
I honestly thought about bidding on it to send off to briarville, if it stays low it would be worth it considering a 400 is usually a few hundred bucks.Man I got really excited when I saw this up for auction. That I'm not sure of, but a new tenon could be an option, maybe ? Can't recall if I've ever seen that before. I'm not an expert at repairs but I hear they are very good -I've never used them. What would briarville do? Make a replacement stem? Or can they fix the original?
That particular pipe will probably sell over its value. The full repair and restoration from Briarville with shipping will touch on around $60. It's a smaller 400 as it is - at its current price of over $40 I imagine the pipe with repairs will require an investment of over $100 to own. Someone scorched the bowl - I am guessing it was really used.
