Marital advice on snus usage

Okay, so at first, when I saw the title of this thread, my brain read it as "snu," which made me think you were saying you were addicted to snu snu. In which case, I'd say, die with a smile:

Obviously, I misread that.

On a more serious note, what exactly do you mean by addiction? Addiction is a maladaptive behavior. If you're using snus and cannot stop, and using it to fulfill something lacking, then yea, you should stop using it, and not just because your wife asks you to. That's not a good road to travel down.

I would say that it is addictive and am addicted to it like I would be with cigarettes. I am far past the nic-buzz phase but I get antsy and feel like I'm missing something if I don't have a pouch in. It feels as if I left the house for work without underwear on , something doesn't feel right, like something is missing. When I pop one in, everything feels right.

They already did feel like that but snus relieved it. We rent so I can't smoke inside and I don't have the time to go outside anytime I want to have a smoke unfortunately.

IMO - take the personal, marital stuff off the internet and if you can't take the time to discuss and figure it out between you involve someone in whatever capacity you both have some confidence could help get it figured out.

The difficulty is it isn't something that she is open to discussing. We've talked about it multiple times (me trying to convince her that there is nothing wrong with it and it is a healthier alternative to smoking) but this last time, she made it abundantly clear that she doesn't want me using it and is not open to further discussion. Again, as I have commented to other contributors, maybe that is my queue.

Bottom line, it's about open and honest communication and reasonable compromise. You know your life and wife better than the forum does, so the path to walk down up to you.

Rent a house, spouse, and kids so you can give them back when through (or renew the lease for a few years). I've broken two of the three and own my hypocrisy.

There are some items that she needs my approval of, common sense one like jobs that require relocation, large purchases, weekend trips that she plans etc. but nothing in the same category of substance usage.

Some of those could be for the relaxation and dopamine release, much like tobacco.

You have to ask yourself: Would you rather partake of snus, or risk your relationship with your wife by sneaking around and doing snus on the sly? Would you rather have your wife in your life or snus? Is losing her trust worth it?

Which kind do you mean? Unfortunately I live in a state that does not allow me to purchase tobacco products online. However, at a select few convenience stores in my area, General Snus is available, only the Mint, Spearmint, White, and Traditional portions though.

I see, yeah I figure that availability might be limited.
Ettan loose, or in swedish, lös, is the foremost quintessential snus.
The recipe is 200 years old.
