I am not a huge fan of Aros but one I've bought many tins of over the years was Brebbia Allegro which is either not available or isn't made anymore. So my question is does any one have any opinions of the commonly available blends that have mango or mango vanilla flavoring as their descriptions. (there are four at smoking pipes). I just thought before trying a few out it be nice to hear what people think of them. And yeah I love mango it makes sense that would be one of my aro choices.

Wondering the same, I've been sitting on a tin of Solani Tropical Mango I bought for some reason. I can't work up the desire to open it, can't imagine why the heck I bought it.
because mango is awesome and actually goes really great with tobacco. It's one of those weird flavorings that is up front and distinct with barely distracting from the tobacco flavor. It's actually a wonder that it isn't a more common tobacco flavoring. It kicks cherries ass any day of the week! Seriously I almost never touch aros but Allegro is the first blend I ever cellared any of. Now I'am down to half a small mason jar, so like four bowls or around four hours of enjoyment.

I need to open it then. I’ve had it for at least 2 years. Kind of don’t play well with aros though for some reason. I think I like some of them, but just can’t choose one over a VA or VaPer when it’s time to light up. Like that Exotic Orange, I have a 3 year old tin minus maybe 3 bowls jarred and will probably never open it again.

Didn’t mean to be a kill joy. I popped it and was surprised. It’s a square tin and seems a bit dry, so I may not be getting a full dose of the mango. It’s not bad by any means. A bit of a burley taste over the Virginia’s. The mango isn’t strong. It s barely detectable actually. But I think as I mentioned the square tin may have left it needing hydration. I’m going to add a little moisture and see how it tastes, the flakes are a bit crumbly. But I’ve heard a few folks describing they may dry their tobaccos to a similar state.

I really like the Holger Danske Mango tobacco. I think it is produced by Planta, who does an excellent job with citrusy aromatics. I will mix mine half and half with PS pure Dark Fired Kentucky, but I believe Stokkebyes is not making that any more. Once my supply runs out, I will miss it. It mixes great with aromatics to give it a bit of spice and kick.

Our local Tinder Box offers a tobacco they call Mango Tango. I bought an ounce to sample a couple of years ago. If you have a Tinder Box near you, check it out.

I also make a mango/mead Melomel, which is a fruit and honey wine. It comes out to a 20% APV, and friends love it. It just takes two years to get it to a finished wine, so I have five gallons fermenting right now to enjoy latter. Making one gallon a year, was a long wait for just five bottles.
sounds interesting. I'd certainly try a bottle of that. No promises on how much I'd finish but I'd certainly give it a test drive.

square tins are the only ones I've had that too dry thing happening with. And the thing is when you dry out tobacco pre smoke it loses less flavor (as in none really) then when you let it dry in the tin. It's basically because the flavor oils or something doesn't start drying out until the water is gone. Or in other words once it hits the right dryness it starts to begin the process of losing flavor. Though jars are amazing because it seems to get the tobacco to the perfect dry level and stops there. So it smokes easy and doesn't lose flavor.

Honestly that one really jumped out at me as a lucky pick.

No need to fear Solani Tropical Mango Flake is excellent! Only have about 1/2 of a tin left but has a bright fruity flavor with a quality tobacco base. Taste is subjective but this one is decent!

Alright so I know now what my next order will have. Some Solani and Dankse and a pound or two of something awesome. Gotta find a good bulk English.
