. 40 Ford Stake Body Truck, this is my Favorite. At 10 I learned to drive standing up o see over the Windshield. Big Bull Dick starter I could hardly reach. Road a lot of Gravel roads with my Grandpaw .

The 33 Ford was hardly ever mentioned back when car models were the rage in my NH town, late 50's.

The 32 Ford was the one everyone wanted. Then the 40 Ford.

As a youngster, I was always fascinated to see the new year's models which seemed to be held from public view until they were 'unveiled'.

My first vehicle was a truck I purchased for $100.00 and drove it home. I was 16, so that was in 1964, so my truck was already 27 years old.

I'd already practiced and learned to drive by grabbing any available steering wheel by then. From farm tractors to '47 DeSotos, to a '50 Mercury, a '56 Ford Fairlane, and a front end loader, I was always looking for the opportunity to drive. My '37 Chevy P.U. was my first.

I'd like to have my 65 GTO back, or my '55 Chevy Panel van.

NICE!!! My 1st car at age 16 was a '55 Chevy. But I was driving at 14.
Used to hot wire my fathers car while he slept. He worked nights. My pal Nicky Scams and I would drive around the city when we were supposed to be in school.
To fill the gas tank so my dad didn't know we stole his car I would siphon gas out of a Cadillac owned by a priest who lived next store.
Loved those old cars!

Of course, the '55 Chevy is probably their 'most' classic? When I was a freshman in H.S. I often got a ride from a neighbor in a '56 Ford Crown Vic that had the sweetest sounding exhaust system, and when we'd ride through one small town on the way, he always had a head of steam and let it blat as we cruised through on a downhill grade.

It was amazing.

I guess I'd like to have a Buggati Veyron. I'd drive it once just for a thrill, then sell it and use the money for a LOT of other things I'd rather have, like a 1960 Buick Invicta two door hardtop, and maybe a vacation home in a cooler climate for the summer. The 33 Ford and the pickup truck are works of art to me. All great cars. My cousin maintains his first car, a Plymouth Barracuda he had custom equipped at the factory from proceeds of working construction one summer.

Great on gas, 4WD. Made for life in Canada. I just wonder if airbags can save you from a moose. I'm right there with Warren for a Ranger if it's true. That's what everyone has been dreaming of since the 90's, but apparently truck manufacturers hate people who use a truck for anything but towing, except they don't make a straight six anymore either, so they pretty much hate everyone. Trucks are now the same category of vehicle as the Veyron.

You should see Death Proof then, if you haven't already. Tarantino does a very good nod to Vanishing Point, and pretty much all the other famous car chase movies from the 70s.
