That (SP 2011?) looks hand cut and not stamped, so it’s unlikely a carver who necessarily does any high volume (that said, Boswell pipes might be hand signed as opposed to stamped, and he’s prolific); the shaping looks kind of crude and amorphous (no graceful lines and transitions), so it could just be a hobbyist who signed it with his (or her) initials and date. These are just my subjective observations, though. All that matters is you dig it and that it smokes well.

I agree with Theironmonkey... it could even just be someone who put their own name on the pipe. I have several that I had restained and made new stems for and put my own name on them, I also like to grind off the names of some carvers, because... no reason. I just have no respect for resell value, ha ha.
