I think it means it either has a windcap that is held on by magnets or that it has a removeable bowl that is held in place with magnets.I found a briar pipe (a Milano Bulldog) that is “magnet topped.” What is the purpose or advantage of having a magnet topped pipe?
Beautiful pipe. But my god... just no.Magnetic stems.
I agree.Beautiful pipe. But my god... just no.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it (the tenon that is).
I love it. Finally I get to put something to be proud of on the fridge. You can hang it on the refrigerator along with kiddies' drawings to show how well you smoked without drooling too much.
By the looks of it your wind cap theory sounds best. There are three magnets that look like inlaid around the top of the bowl. Thanks for the help.I think it means it either has a windcap that is held on by magnets or that it has a removeable bowl that is held in place with magnets.
I never noticed those. I would not like misaligned grain, either.Around Easter this past year, Savinelli released some egg shaped pipes with magnets in the rim to hold the top of the egg onto the bowl. I sort of wished I ordered one, but the grain didn’t align and that bothered me, so I passed.
I bet that reduces stress on the tenon. Having it be magnetic and all that. Doesn't have to fit so tightly.Beautiful pipe. But my god... just no.

An "egg and spoon"
Oh I'm sure. Just personally, I'd never want it.I bet that reduces stress on the tenon. Having it be magnetic and all that. Doesn't have to fit so tightly.
Wouldn't want that pipe with a traditional stem set up either. Just saying I think I see the point of it and why it's not really a terrible idea.Oh I'm sure. Just personally, I'd never want it.
