Nice work! I like the tortoise shell stem,my favorite acrylic. Nice birdseye on that rim!

Really nice work. I wonder what you think you might have done differently? My only thought was that maybe you might have shaped the rim more uniformly, and that is still a possibility. But, I know nothing but what I see with my inexperienced eye.

I will tackle pipe fabrication some day. Seeing the work of others inspires.

I love your sense of style, reaching back to the classic, but bringing it to the now. Your style shows the beautiful grain from both top and side. Brilliant.

What color/type of stain did you use 7ach?

I used a dark stain and sanded it back lightly until the hardwood held the stain and the soft wood was light(repeated a few times with finer and finer grit). Then restrained it with a golden yellow. Lightly sanded it and was left with both colors where I wanted them :)

Yes, the rim could be a little more even, but mostly I would have made the shank longer.

Absolutly LOVE IT!!!! BEAUTIFUL PERIOD END OF SENTENCE!!!!!!!!
I have a question for yall who make pipes, where do you get your stems from? There are a few pipes I have that I would love to replace the stems on with a more interesting tortise shell looking stem.
