MacQueen Pipes - Really Cool Churchwardens

I hate saying it, but this is one I will not support because of customer service. I was in the same shoes as Buck and well I never received mine. Then when I asked for a refund he gave me attitude (i did get it). I hope he does get more staff so he can meet his demand. If I am ever wanting one again though I will go through PandC so I do not have to deal with McQueen himself and still pay less than on his website.

I'm a french guy and I want to buy a churchwarden to Mac queen. Perhaps, I heard lot of thing about them, in one hand they are reliable, on the other hand they do not deliver :s
I'm pretty lost. Could you give me some feedback / advice if you bought in that store ?

They should extend the wait time on their web site..I believe it says 6-8 weeks. They need to double that quote. I ordered one the beginning of Jan. Twice I was told we will send it out next week...didn't happen either time. A few weeks ago I got the we mailed your pipe letter...we'll see. Hopefully it will actually show up in the next couple weeks. Its good their prices are reasonable if not Id be twice as frustrated. Sorry Kevin I know its not what you want to hear but it is a drag. And they should be aware of how people feel about it if they want to continue having a successful business. Because they are not as up front as they should be.

I ordered mine in early Jan as well, been trying to contact them for a couple of weeks now and no response -- I've more or less just written this off as a loss -- if they ever do come in, bully for me, but if you're going to go that far over your quoted time, at least have the decency to respond to messages.

Try his real time chat feature. When I was having my issues with him that is the way I got through to him. He is very wishy washy if you really want the pipe and not just a refund I would suggest a very tactful approach. Seems to me he thinks since he has a backlog of orders he can do what he wants and if he loses a few orders no big deal. So talking to him at times might be like walking on rice paper.

MacQueens look very cool. Too bad their business ethic isn't up to par. They would have me as a customer.

So, I decided to command 2 churchwarden pipe to "sirwilliamw" on ebay. He seems very serious and his pipe are affordable and very nice look.
I would like to buy 2 of them (one for me and one for my best friend, both LOTR fans) to smoke our pipe, at seaside,while we are fishing ...

Macqueen pipes look nice, but I don't think their nice enough to justify that kinda wait or customer service. Especially when you can get a nice churchwarden for half that price elsewhere or make yourself a truly unique churchwarden using a nice MM corncob and a ForeverStems churchwarden stem. Really, the only thing MacQueen seems to have going for them is the fitted "holsters" they sell for their pipes.
Also, there are some pipemakers here on the forum that make some REALLY nice pipes. If you really wanted something unique you could ask them to sell/make you one.

Yeah I give up, I e-mailed them about a refund not long after my last post. Frankly I'd rather buy some second hand books than even set eyes on those pipes at this point. Of course, the way getting a hold of them has been going I wouldn't be surprised if the pipes finally came in (2-6 months from now)before they even respond to the refund request.
I've never been able to catch the online chat active.

@Lucious, I meant there are members who make pipes and would probably make you a pipe based on your request. I asked a certain member here (It's his business if he wants to disclose that he's working on something or not, until it's actually mine.) to make me a custom pipe recently and am anxiously awaiting the finished product.

Yeah I figured it out at length kf5eqv (you have no idea how hard that was to type this far into sleep deprivism man, your name is just evil!) heh heh. . .
By the by. . I second that statement about clays -- but I've got several of them lying around already myself, and no good churches -- I have some cheap ukranian ones I've come to appreciate over the weeks as their abhorrent sweetness from the soft wood has simmered down after the development of a good cake. . but still only slightly sub-par pipes --
so I think I'll be taking our favourite uncle up on that deal (always assuming I can get my money out of the lads over and MacQueen)
