I like to let my pipe sit freehand for as long as possible. The only pipe I own light enough is an old Grabow. Doesnt hurt my teeth and smokes well. I'd like to add a full bent though to my rotation. I do prefer saddle, but will consider any. Any suggestions on super light, affordable (under 100 bucks) full bent? To give some reference, my Peterson Killarny red is a bit heavy. Not the XL. Love the shape but cant last long freehand.

Last time I looked, PC still had a few Kaywoodie Saxon's in stock, which are nicely crafted light weight blast pipes for about $44. Just the ticket for clenching. Whatever brand, just look at the weight; I like around 1.3 ounces, but anything between 1 and 1.5 works, and some lighter ones are good too.

The 904s are nicely balanced but few fall below $100 unless you look into the estates.

My Peterson 317 is great for long time hands free clenching. Very light weight. Perhaps a bit small bowl, but I can get up to an hour from it with tightly packed flake. Great for lunting or when you are walking the dog. Well under a hundred USD from several British retailers.

I’m a very big fan of BriarWorks pipes. Made in America, can be had for under $100 (use the discount code PIPESMAG on their website for 10% off), and their acrylic saddle stems are extremely comfortable. My best clencher is a straight apple by them, but I bet their bent pipes would be great too.

The Savinelli 673 series is one of the most comfortable pipes I've ever smoked, either holding or clenching. Ymmv, here.

The Spring series is right at $100.00.

My current greatest clencher is a Savinelli 614, as already suggested upthread.

In an effort to get a truly great straight clencher, I have this beauty coming from Italy this week. Once it’s through quarantine, we will see how it does. It doesn’t hit the budget unfortunately. I’d go Rossi or Savinelli for that.

I pretty much clench exclusively and don't own a single full bent. The vast majority of my pipes weigh less than 2 oz and are 1/8th to 1/4 bent. Just focus more on getting a thin, wide mouthpiece and you'll fine. Savinelli makes plenty of pipes that will fit your need and are good smoking pipes.

Use the smokingpipes pipe finder tool. You can set it by weight, price, shape, and much more. You could narrow down your selection quite easily that way.
