Why you won't eat ze shrimp?

Ze land bugs contain chitin, a deadly poison, so I won't eat 'em either. There are also other reasons... Eating land bugs is just ghoulish behavior in general, they contain parasites, ect.

Also I'll put in on the record. Klaus can suck it. He won't make me eat bugs.

It's ok to eat the water bugs if you have the appetite for it...I just got to a point many years ago where it no longer appealed to me...even kind of grosses me out now.

Just thinking of eating shrimp I lose my appetite...especially un-breaded, or cold... 🤮

Congrats on 10,000 posts. Do they send you a T-shirt or a coffee mug? An atta boy? A pouch of Mixture 79?

They told me I could order any shirt I wanted...so I went for this:

I am (was) a big fan of Boar's Head braunshweiger and liverwurst. Great with mustard and pickled onions. They are off the shelves of my local grocer for months now. Same with some of their sausages. I hope they return in future after the company sets up a new manufacturing facility.

Not the most popular of deli meats these days. I wouldn't go for a liverwurst sandwich, but I love a good smear of pate on a Banh Mi. And I mean, they can call it pate all they want, I bet it's usually just liverwurst
I had to lookup Banh mi. It seems Asian breads are in style. A friend recently raved about salt bread from Korea.

Banh Mi, I think does refer to the bread, but in the U.S., at least, it usually refers to Vietnamese sandwiches, which are kind of a perfect example of the remaining French influence in Vietnam. They come with different types of meats, with cilantro, daikon, carrots and jalapenos, a smear of pate/liverwurst on the baguette and kind of a sweet mayonnaise like dressing. If you haven't tried one, I highly recommend it.

This is a chain that's popular here out West:

This thread inspired me to snag some liverwurst from the grocer this weekend and I'm gonna do it up with the onion and cheddar on rye. Sounds like something my grandpas would eat.
These are the two best applications for liverwurst or braunswager. One traditional, the other more modern in terms of American fare.

I'm not a huge offal fan, but I do eat heart and liver from wild fame I hunt and sometimes from our cattle.
There are plenty of people waiting in line for organ meat when we slaughter a cow, so nothing is going to waste.
