Geoje Island South Korea
Thought this might be an interesting thread to start.
As you all know, I live & work in Korea. Great country an' all, but there are limitations and draconian laws that need to be observed.

From what I gather, many of us are Bourbon drinkers, so I was just wondering how much y'all paying for your tipple?
Not the first time for me, a guy needs a drink, I bought a bottle of Maker's Mark this afternoon for KW 62,000 +/- USD 55. Last week, I bought a bottle of Woodford's Reserve for KW129,000 +/- USD100. Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace, both astronomical.
Hey, this isn't a complaint post, I'm only too happy that it's available. But I just got to wondering how much y'all are paying:
A) State Side.
B) Rest of The World.

Korea! What are the women like over there? Much shape to them or are they all a bit short, dumpy & on the plain side?
Back to the question at hand! I don't drink bourbon but a bottle of whisky will cost £15-20 for blended & £30-40 for single malt.

Hot as f@ck! Where do you get the idea of short, dumpy & on the plain side? Maybe you should visit and see for yourself.
Your liquor is way cheap! But it's Scotch you're describing.

The only Korean I've seen is that Kim Jong fella & his family. I worked in Hong Kong for awhile & the ladies over there were stunning. Never met a Korean though & was curious enough to ask. I'll put it down as a 'possible' holiday destination.?

Well now, that Kim Jeong-Un fella is short & dumpy and many other things too.
The ladies in the far east certainly know how to take care of themselves. ROW ladies, take note!

As a control, in New York, these are the prices of some of what you listed:

Maker’s Mark (Regular): $39.99
Maker’s Mark (90 Degree): $59.99
Woodford Reserve: $39.99
Buffalo Trace (Regular): $39.99

Personally, I find the regular Maker’s a bit too sweet and of a singular note—we’ve enjoyed the more unique offerings with various staves of wood. Susan can’t abide by Woodford Reserve (too harsh)—I’ll order it in a bar if there aren’t options I prefer, but I’m not an advocate either. I love several of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, but, their prices have gotten too high on the secondary market for regular enjoyment. I’ve mentioned this before in this forum: Pappy is an amazing bourbon at regular retail, but it’s among the most overrated in the context of going rates in the secondary market (upwards of $2,000 for a single bottle these days); it’s not worth it when there are so many good whiskies out there that are affordable to most people.

Thanks, IronMonkey. Agree with you that regular Maker's Mark is a bit too sweet, but beggars can't be choosers. Woodford's for me is kinda neutral, no idea why its so expansive here.
Never tried Pappy's, but understand that it's ridiculously priced, either retail (if ya can get it) secondary, forget it! As you say, there's lots of other great whiskey out there, now that micro's are taking up too.

I’m not sure if you can get the Paglione Oak Bottle in Korea, but, it can be a game changer (or at least fun to play with). We got a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled-in-Bond (750 ml) on sale for $16.99 and put it in the Oak Bottle for one day, set some aside, and some for two days, then did a tasting with some friends of the stock version, one day in oak, two days in oak. Our friends’ jaws dropped after tasting the two day version; all the rough edges were gone, a new depth of flavour was present—they felt it tasted like a higher end bourbon several times the cost.

If you do get one, follow the instructions and submerge the Oak Bottle in water so that the wood gets soaked inside and out; if you only soak the inside, a catastrophic crack can develop because the outside is still dry—I found out the hard way.
