For good taste at a relative modest price, I would also mention:
Altadis "Fox and Hound" and Sutliff "Westminster," not to be confused with the

G.L Pease "Westminster," very popular on Forums but more expensive (I'm looking

forward to opening my tin of that).

Okay, I'll play:

.

Garfinkel's Orient Express #11 - There's never been anything to even approach the perfection of this latakia mixture. Sadly, long out of print, but the stuff is legendary, and for good reason. The finest thing that has ever come out of Sobranie House. White label? Black label? Move over. This is it. Full stop.

.

Meridian - Arguably one of the best balanced latakia mixture available today.

.

Abingdon - Nothing is closer to, or has ever been closer to the original Sobranie 759. But, only those who smoked the original 759 know that, and most of us are older than me.

.

Quiet Nights - Unique, dynamic, rich, fascinating, and good to the last drop. It'll age for a decade or more, and continue to enthrall.

.

Chelsea Morning (or Piccadilly, I can't decide) - When a little latakia is just enough, these two satisfy me like no others.

.

That's my five, today. It'll likely change tomorrow, but the Garfinkel's will remain at the top spot, where it has been for the 30 years I've been smoking the stuff. Sorry to who might be offended by my putting so many of my own weeds on the list, but if I didn't think they were fantastic, I wouldn't put my name on them. I can't sell what I don't love.

Since my original post, I've tried, and been swept away, by Greg's Lagonda...guess I have to make my listing 11...just cannot limit it to 5... WAY too many good Lat blends out there....

1. GL Pease Abingdon

2. GL Pease Lagonda

3. GL Pease Odyssey

4. SG Commonwealth

5. JF Germain Penzance
I do not smoke Lat everyday, but when I want it, I really crave it and so I reach for the richer ones.
I also like blends where the Lat is not quite so forward such as SG's Squadron Leader and GL Pease's Westminster.
With the imminent arrival of GL Pease's Gas Light, I suspect one of the five above will be displaced...

Greg -- no problem! And, for those of us who have wondered which of your blends you most prefer, that was enlightening!
Now, my top 5 (of the moment):

1. GLP Odyssey (this has been my favorite lat mixture since I first tried it many years ago, and it has never been displaced)

2. Compton's York Full Mixture (basically, this is a lot like Odyssey only the flavor is a little "thinner" and the nicotine level is a little higher)

3. Homebrew latakia mix (contains Boswell's Northwoods, G-Burlier's Smokies Smoke-Eze, and some blending latakia)

4. H&H Fusilier's Ration (I doubt this is what the Bengal Slices tasted like, but I think it's a damn fine "crossover" that I find strangely addictive)

5. GLP Maltese Falcon (I disliked this one at first, but now it's turned into one of my favorites in no small part because it's a very simple and VERY easy to smoke blend)

1. Dunhill Nitecap, thanks to a sample from the Old Cajun I'm a fan.

2. GLP Westminster

2. Plum Pudding

4. Penzance, might rate higher if I could find it easier

5. Dunhill 965
I mostly smoke Lats, and these are my favorites, but I'm still trying new blends. I love the Frogs also but, keeping the list to five is difficult.
