Well so far I have cut myself making all of them. I have made 5. So far they are all for practice

I'm I too new to participate if I choose to try? Never made a tamper before so not sure I should start out with trading as I'd come out ahead for sure.

Gmwolford, We have a tamper exchange every six months or so on this forum. Since you joined the forum six days ago, I would rather you waited until the next exchange. I will PM you with my thought process if you want.
But welcome to the forum! We have lots of fun learning from each other. Why not try to make your own tamper? You will get a lot of ideas from the pictures that people posts.

Winton, no need; I completely understand. And I am getting some neat ideas from the pictures shared. I didn't realize it was a reoccurring event and a few months from now would give me practice time and be less hectic. Well, probably not really less hectic to be perfectly honest. LOL

I made a new tamper for trade. This one is a more traditional shape, solid hard wood (I think red oak), stained with cordovan leather dye.

BTW; In celebrating my 12+ months of great times here on PM,

I'm going to have 12-Tampers ready by Sept. so the PM member

can choose from 1 of 12 tampers ( I will mix them up; some briar,

other woods, bamboo, etc...thank you all vey much for a fantastic

year here brother and sisters; oh hell, I will even send a custom

SD MM Washigton hardwood reed cob to go along with the new

tamper
