Latikia Reaction?

I've been smoking alot of Larry's Blend and Frog Morton lately,as they are my main fav's, with the odd bowl of Steamroller. Tounge feels not really sore but thick and tender. It's not really tounge bite as hot coffee does not make me wince. However, i do believe i am having a reaction to Latakia, and i truly hope not as i have, after many years, finally found 2 baccy's that i truly love. Any input would be greatly appreciated here. I currently rinse 3-4 times a day with Biotene.

i bought a pouch of Green Sail last week when i was out, i wonder if that is what's doin it. If i remember yrs ago, green sail use to make my tounge tender.

Nsfisher: I hope you don't have the same problem I had. See This thread for some advice / opinions. I've laid off the Latakia since then and have not had an issue.
I'm about to give FMOTT another try this weekend. Crossing fingers. But I'm with Marc. Taking it slow and sticking to one blend I know was not the issue, seemed to have helped me. Good luck

The only reaction I ever had to latakia was huge amounts of JOY!! Some people though are sensitive to it. I would suspect the preservatives in the sail myself.

Try just the Latakia blends and see if it continues.I also would guess that it's a chemical reaction to the Sail.I get that same reaction if I smoke straight Virginia.

I bought an ounce of tobacco from a jar with a hand written label "Latakia" on it at my as they say, B&M.
I very much liked it. Latakia is lacking in the flavors and strength of other tobaccos, but it does have a very subtle and consistent flavor of it's own. The mellowest of all the tobacco I've tried, by far.
I'm looking forward to getting Larry's Blend in the mail, and I ought to thank you nsfisher, it was your post that got me interested.

i now have 22 diff baccy's and larrys blend is by far my fav. If it turns out i cant smoke latakia i just dont know if i want to continue smoking. thats how much i like it!!!!!!!! I think i gonna set the sail aside tho first an c if that helps before i take a break from the latakia

Glad to be of help but also the first pipeful of Larrys Blend i didnt care for at all. I took cover off container overnite and in the morning HUGE difference. From then on i'm hooked.
