I have been a pipe smoker since I went to live at College at 18 - 35 years ago. This is the first time I've encountered a PS community, I'm enbarassed it took me so long to find. I hate to call it smoking. It's aroma-therapy. My collection is small b/c I tend to use my pipes to death before replacing them, I rarely have more than 10. I have two old meerschaums, and a very old Petersen Irish Bent. They are my foundation pipes. I also have a barrel clay pipe that is over 20 years old, stained and chewed down from a 1/2 warden to a stub at this point. Others come and go but I always have a cob pipe, I work as a horticulturist and the cob pipe is my work-a-day go to.
I have been a client of TH since I started using a pipe,Turkish Evening was my favourite for years, from McClelland (I think). Unfortunately it became unavailable with the advent of COVID, TH told me they went out of business. Now, I generally smoke a blend named Mark Twain...if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with. Mark Twain does feel particularly appropriate with the Mississippi Meerschaum.
