Pipe Dreamer and Star Gazer
Words can't describe how nice this community is!
I am so sorry I just missed you. A huge shout out to to @sablebrush52 and @jguss engaging conversation and good times. @shanez is right, this is a nice community. I can't say how appreciative I am of being given the opportunity to view and examine Jesse's wonderful and amazing collection of Barlings. Seeing them in person is so not the same as photos. The level of quality and craftsmanship is something to see for yourself. My recommendation is that we start having a pipesmagazine table at these events.

I did end up getting my dad a pipe: A Canadian Castleford with a Red Bark Sandblast type finish. I am hopeful he will enjoy it as he adds it to his collection of 60+ years of smoking a pipe.

Anyway, what a joy it was to meet the legends themselves in person.

Maybe off topic, but what kind of pipe is this next to the cased pipe and why is it in sections?
It’s a travel pipe, made to break down into three sections, bowl, shank, and stem, so that it can be tucked away into a knapsack, or a small pocket, and reassembled when needed.

Pretty cool idea.

I attend the LasVegas Intl pipe Show 2025 and this is what I came home with. My 7th in a series from Jeremiah Sandahl and a bamboo shank Castello.

Dave I was looking at this picture of Carlo and I couldn't help but notice that the bamboo shanked pipes on his desk show a remarkable similarity to your recent acquisition, especially the second pipe in. The bowl colour, distance from bit to first knuckle of the bamboo, overall length, case sitting in back with lid up all speak to me.
