Glad you're ok. I agree it needs to end up on the weber. Reminds me of a story my father in law tells. He used to commute to Topeka for years. One morning he rolls up on a traffic jam. Cop tells him someone hit a deer and its a mess. The cops were asking if anyone wanted the deer. These two good ol boys in a truck said yes. Cop tells them have at it and continues to talk to my father in law. Next thing he hears a chainsaw going. Cops run over and these guys were quartering it out in front of all the.horrified moms etc. they said what we're only taking the good parts.

Yep I've tenderized some venison with my bumper before; luckily it has always been in the cooler months so I can take my time butchering it in the garage.

I feel your pain. Bought a Ford Ranger brand new in 2002. Had it 6 months and hit a deer. Insurance paid to fix it, and 6 months later, got deer number 2. Again, insurance claim, act of God, no deductible, had it fixed. 3 weeks after, got my third deer. Bumper was tweaked, and one smashed headlight. Bought a new headlight on ebay, and never had issues with Bambi again!

Glad you're alright Hawke Man. I'm always on the lookout for deer out where I live. They roamed before the cars and roads were around. They don't know any better. With a car going a good speed and a running deer, there's no stopping the inevitable. Careful out there.

Glad you're OK Hawke. Thank God modern cars are so good and keeping us safe when stuff like this happens. Airbags, seat belt pretensioners, and the engineers who design them are truly gifts from above. Don't sweat the car, it's the insurance company's problem.
In my area this is a tragically common occurrence as well. So far in life I've been lucky and never hit one (knock on wood), but I've had some uncomfortably close calls that ended with screeching tires, a severely elevated heart rate, and a perfectly healthy deer trotting away into the woods. Sure hope my luck continues to hold up ...

Glad you're ok...sucks about the car though. Good thing at least you didn't try putting it in the back seat...that kind of thing doesn't always work out well.

That phone call reminds me of a radio show when I was a kid, Little Tommy and Uncle Larry out of Chicago used to read news stories. A couple old ladies hit a deer and put it in the car with blood everywhere, then it woke up. This was late 70's and I have rarely laughed so hard since.

Hopefully the car was not totalled and eat the bambi... glad you are okay. In the end of the day the cars can be repaired and it is easier to do when your belly is full.
That is the reason why I don't like riding motorcycle in dark. You hit anything, you get hurt.

The V6 2012 Camaro was totaled out. One week later I bought another. A less mileage 2010 426HP 6.2 V8 with a 6speed manual trans. This one is a real Hot Rod! WOW! Scares this old man to death.
