Justified Rustified - A Question

The start of the second of three carves. My favorite time when everything looks FUBAR and I tend to freak.

All this is to find a finish for three pipes to gift a new piper (as in smokes, wants a pipe, but has none) So three unfinished Lorenzo pipes awaiting a finish.

Ooo, so you're a pipe maker.

Well, you've three pipes, and you've three major finishes: smooth, rusticated, and sandblasted.

Now it's only a matter of deciding which pipe gets which. ?

Not a huge fan of rusticated or sandblasts but rather like my old Wimbledon 370

I wish! I think of myself as a simple pipe finisher. I no longer have the physical ability or machinery required to create much of anything. Deb said it best. "You are more of a pipe butcher."

If you do go for the smooth finish, may I suggest you apply it to the bent pot? The stem line is just such a continuation of the shape, tapering to such a thin end without ridges or interruptions, that it already conveys 'smoothness'.

Well...it is real, and it is nice, but it ain't real nice. Not what I am looking for yet.
