We learned in law school the power to tax is the power to destroy.The historical transfer of real estate from the lower 50% to the upper 10% is a direct result of real estate taxes. Real estate ownership should have been exempted from taxation by the Constitution.
Of course the only ones there in law school were educated enough to be there.
Missouri has low property taxes, low sales taxes, low income taxes, low excise taxes, and ranks dead last in schoolteacher pay.
Nobody likes taxes, but everyone likes good schools, roads, airports and bridges.
