Based upon Jim's 4 star rating and my positive experience with Ernie's blends, I purchased my one pound allotment. Bring on those two will result in a win way more often than not.
Concidering the size of the operation at Watch City, I think Ernie and his staff do an incredible job of getting their product to the masses. They are also forthcoming with new releases and restock of staple blends. I feel like Ernie takes pride in his craft and is customer driven. I don't get that vibe from say ESO or SG. And with no middle men we don't get the wild fluctuations in price with those other hard to find blends. The blends we missed from WCC will be back around, until then they have blends in stock for every pallet. In the meantime try those blends out, you won't be disappointed. I'll pay four bucks an ounce for an English blend from Ernie before I drop 250 bucks for a bag of Penzance any day.
Nice haul. I'm confident that you won't be disappointed and you're right, the references to Moby Dick to start the descriptions is a cool and personal touch. I hope I wasn't too hard on guys like ESO and SG. I know they are not at fault for availability and pricing, it's the distributors I'm suspicious of.Okay, I hope you’re right. By the way, I’m screwed. One of my favorite books is Moby Dick and I grew up near the Blue Ridge Mountains. I noticed a theme in his blends that will likely cost me a lot of money. Hell, one of them is called “Cap’n Boomer’s.” My name IS Boomer.
On order:
Ahab’s Comfort - 2oz
Blue Ridge Special - 2oz
Cap’n Boomer’s - 4oz (because it’s my name)
Fat Bastard - 2oz
Nor’easter - 2oz
Persian Slipper - 2oz
Quint’s Own - 2oz
Terrapin Station - 2oz
The Churchwarden - 2oz
Watch City Slices - 4oz
Stubb’s Pipe - 2oz
I’ll probably never get around to smoking any of these; but if I do, I’ll let you know what I think of them!

Totally agree. I'm knee deep in ESO and SG blends. I just felt like I may have unfairly singled them out. It's the nature of the business. Not at all. Marketing is marketing. Kudos to them for driving the brands in that direction. I'm not insinuating I won't buy their stuff anymore, just that I've realized it's not the only stuff out there.
It's good stufff. Had a bowl today and plan on another tomorrow.I usually rotate through a variety of tobaccos, but I have smoked this every day since I got it. Can't put it down!
Boomer like a red squirrel?Nice haul. I'm confident that you won't be disappointed and you're right, the references to Moby Dick to start the descriptions is a cool and personal touch.
