Less then 5 minutes. I was on the site as the clocked turned to 4:00mtn and loaded cart but by the time I entered card info and hit the complete purchase. It loaded up and said product not available. Thank God for smoking pipes and the 12 a day limit. Picked up 9 so I'm a happy, just the lag and crashing could be better but what can you expect when you have a quarter of all the tins produced.

One thing I have done is always have a CC saved in my account for those types of purchases.

That way its, add to cart, checkout, done.

After that is complete I will typically delete the card.

Funny how these things have now turned into a Black Friday type mad dash for something like a PS5 or the new "it" toy. Its a bit ridiculous and funny honestly.

I do agree about the issues SP's website is constantly having with these releases. They could do better on that front. Probably the only negative I can think of I have experienced with them. I guess its a good issue to have that much traffic too though.

Took me less than 30 seconds to secure on SP, thanks! Love this place. If BnB screws me, they are dead to me, but if they come through I will have way more than I need so there could be some serious Santa mailings in a few months!!
If they do come through, which they well may, and you smoke it and decide you don’t need that many, you will have no problem getting rid of them!

Well after everybody shot their wad trying to get on SP’s site at 6:00pm, 45 minutes later it’s back to normal. And I bought some CRF 2022 anyways…

I’m more interested in seeing how it compares to prior releases, which I have stashed away.

Usually I use PayPal but on tobacco pipes I don't have a card saved and my pay pal was acting up so that was my downfall. The 15 or so extra seconds was enough for them to be sold out. But I spend enough on smoking pipes to have it go quick so that was a breeze. It was about 20 minutes of re-loading and what not until I was finally able to get through.

But let me tell you, if you think this is funny, imagine 20 or so grown adult men waiting in line at target at 4:00am to buy sports and pokemon cards. Now that was hilarious 😂. "Ahhhh good times, good times"

I grabbed a few. Heard on a podcast lately that C and D sells these as "small batch" releases because it avoids some sort of legislation. Could there be any truth to that?

I was on TP at 6pm, was able to add to my cart, went to checkout and as soon as it was confirmed it said there was not enough stock. Bummer!
I'm half convinced that a whale bought out almost 600 tins of the stuff. It was nearly instant after 6pm, stock went from 600 to 2.

Maybe that was just the demand but Jesus. SP may go down but I'll take that over PipeStud levels of checkout sweats.

Awkwardly fought with SP cart and checkout page at the dinner table for 25 minutes but got my 10 tins. Really disliking this 6pm sale time I've got to say.

No whales, 10 tins a person that's only 60 people ... that's nothing.

True, maybe it's because I've never seen 60 pipe smokers in a room but it was hard to believe! No limits, C&D's most popular limited release and a 6pm release time I don't know why I was surprised.

Either way I'm glad SP pulled through.

When I first got on Tobaccopipes, there were like 694 available. About 30 seconds later they were tapped out. The site was a little flakey for a few seconds, but it didn’t crash.

SP was 404 immediately.

So at the end of the day I was able to get the five tins I wanted from SP. This is my first small batch release. I think I will smoke one tin fresh and cellar the other four for a day down the road.

I see on the tin it is a numbered edition of (checks notes) 15,000 tins!

What is a typical annual run of tins on a popular C&D blend? 4 or 5 thousand is my guess.

I'm sure it is great. I'm not here to knock it but I suspect many of these tins will go into cellars and then re-emerge 5 years from now on the vintage sites and at show tables.

Last year's was 15k tins as well. 2022's Sun Bear also got a 15k run, 2021 Sun Bear had 10k. Personally if they have the leaf and it's just as good as it would be otherwise I'm not complaining.

The TobaccoReviews page for it (pre-2022) has a convenient listing of the number of tins produced each year. It’s ramped up steadily each year after 2017:

I appreciate that they’ve been making a clear effort to keep up with demand. I’m sure they love it too!
