Here are the thoughts of the producer of the James Bond films (from a Jan. 16, 2020, BBC article),

"James Bond can be of any colour, but he is male," producer Barbara Broccoli told Variety.
"I believe we should be creating new characters for women - strong female characters.
"I'm not particularly interested in taking a male character and having a woman play it. I think women are far more interesting than that."

Unless this is some serious misdirection, a female James Bond appears to be more of a future prospect.

I am always excited about bond movies. Love them all. I actually really like Daniel Craig. He brings a more serious grit, like Connery’s bond. I think the portrayal needs that, remember, he’s a killer, he needs that steak in him.

Bond novels are great. Read them over and over again when I was a kid.

Every person who's played bond character has brought something to the role that interested and entertained me.

Billie Eilish is incredibly talented.

I guess I don't belong on the internet if I like stuff.

Sequel series wear thin with me even when the production values are good. I remember seeing the first Bond film, with the estimable Connery in the lead role. I saw it with my older sister and said to her that we'd see more Bond movies. It wasn't an original idea. I think they'd added a postscript to the film promising more. The first Bond movie was shamelessly B grade, a little sloppy, very funny, and to me unquestionably best. I saw two or three more over the years and found them progressively humdrum, fun but not memorable. Connery grew to hate the Bond films he'd made, thought the main character was a mindless brute. He was a little hard on it, but had some real insight too. For me, that is the first and only, and easily the best. But if others enjoyed more of the series, I can't argue with them. That is the purpose of movies.

I always find amusing that the villains insist on telling Bond their plan instead of just shooting him. To quote Dr. Evil.."I am going to put you in an easily escapable situation involving an overly elaborate death" or something to that fact.

@canucklehead. Great books when sex, sadism and misogyny ruled the roost.
They don't now? If you listen to hip-hop/Rap that's the main draw.
How many Eilish songs have you heard. She has a variety of interesting cadences and styles.
Sadly, all of them. It's part of my job. Her work would be interesting if it were remotely original. However most of it is directly lifted from '70s and '80s tunes. Case in point, compare note for note "Bury A Friend" and "People Are Strange" from The Doors. Her vibrato is also pretty bad as is her pitch center.

Now get off my lawn nana
