Beautiful pipe, and definitely the largest I have seen so far. Congratulations on your trade.
I've never seen a briar pipe that seemed worth 700 to me. At least not when there are gorgeous pipes under three hundred. Now Meers I've seen some of those at 700 and thought what a deal. That's the beauty, no money changed hands it was a trade. I'm cheap, no way am I paying $700 for a pipe anymore.
I've got several look at only pieces. Why not?
Never paid more than $280 for a meerschaum. Now Meers I've seen some of those at 700 and thought what a deal.
Wow. Absolutely beautiful - I especially like the skull. Thanks for sharing.like the big pipes because they're easier for my battered hands to hold. Definitely some giants in my collection.
Most here just know that I have a soft spot for giant pipes.that pipe fits you
It's about my average size for pipes.Such a huge pipe is beyond my control.
Primarily a tribute purchase for the person (Von Erck) that was instrumental in getting my late friend and favorite pipe maker Bruce Weaver into carving, it is probably going to be a display only piece but definitely my size of pipe.I live about 12 hours away from Van Erck in Michigan. Some day I hope to visit the shop if possible. If I bought a similar pipe, I could likely smoke it all the way home without a refill!
It's connected to Bruce, so worth more than thousands of Dunhills. Though not acquired to smoke, it'll be with me until death. Were that not the case, only badly drilled pipes or ones with chambers of less than a 2 inch depth have been thrown out.Throwing it away when you get tired of it?
