Isopropyl Alcohol vs Denatured Alcohol - Informational Only

I’ve used 90% Isopropyl before.It works well,just keep is away from cheap plastic stems,as it will dissolve them.Normally,I use whiskey or vodka or gin.Everclear works well,also,but keep it away from the cheaper plastic stems.I would stay away from denatured alcohol,as it quite
Poisonous.But that’s just MY opinion.Happy cleaning.

I've been using 91% Iso to clean pipes for years. I can't get grain alcohol in Ohio. Never a problem. I let the pipe sit for a day or two before smoking it after cleaning.

When I used to use alcohol to clean pipes, I found a 151 vodka that cost $13 a bottle. I’m in Cincinnati. That might work for you if you’re looking for a drinkable alternative?

I switched from Everclear to Iso 91% many years ago, it's far cheaper, more easily attainable (was banned for a while in Maryland) and yields the same result.

Sure does, and it doesn't ignite so easily.
And has a wretched smell.

You want something really volatile that doesn't stink.

Well, I was going to use the anti-gel winter additive.
