Update:
Just slight wind so far. Some intermittent spouts of rain here and there, but not much. I'm not really sure if Isaac has made any sort of landfall yet (haven't checked the news), but it definitely feels like the calm before the storm. The family and I have everything we need and our ready to go on shutdown when it hits our area. Will update occasionally until the power goes out.

I heard on the news this morning that 78% of oil production in the Gulf is shutdown beacause of the storm.
They said that because of this, the price of gasoline will be going up in Canada sometime today.
Anyone in the path of the storm............batten down the hatches and hang on.

Another update:
The wind and rain are definitely picking up, but we're doing okay. No power twitches as of yet, but I'm sure they're coming. The southern parishes are taking a beating; 6000 people are already without power. Keep them in your thoughts, please. This one is weak as far as storms go, but it's still troublesome. As for us, we're in a good location. We're just waiting for it to pass.
Thanks for the well wishes guys. It's appreciated.

Update:
Wind is blasting the crap out of us. The storm is a bit stronger, at least wind-wise, than they expected. The rain hasn't started in earnest yet, but the power has started to flicker, so this might be the last time I get to check in with you guys. Just wanted everyone to know hat we're good to go here. Although, I'm not stepping foot outside in this sh*t. lol

We've been labeled as tier 2 relief support. 2 aircraft on standby and we'll head out when called on.

I have to believe that most people in the area, after Katrina, are well prepared for this sort of thing now.
I've been watching animated radar on this for the past couple of days. It was no small storm by any means.

All is well. Lots of rain and wind, but no serious damage. No internet, so I have to use my phone, which has an unstable connection.more updates as I can make them.
